A high-trust partnership for those who want their giving to be strategic, personal, and meaningful — not scattered.

If this resonates, let's talk. No pitch. Just a conversation to see if this kind of partnership would be valuable.

#### **Ken Hunt · Founder · Innergiving Funds**

***

Most impact investors want to deploy philanthropic capital into mental health, behavioral health, and human services. Most don't know how to do it strategically.

Not from lack of resources — but from lack of sector expertise, limited access to exceptional nonprofits, and the reality that $1M spread across 25 organizations creates $40k grants too small to transform.

The result: scattered capital, hundreds of hours spent researching, and unrealized impact potential.

Most impact investors have tried the usual approaches — general philanthropic advisors lacking sector depth, researching nonprofits themselves, or relying on Donor-Advised Fund providers who don't curate or conduct due diligence. What they haven't found is a trusted advisor with deep expertise across mental health, behavioral health, and human services — who can build a custom portfolio around their specific cause, pool capital for leverage, curate exceptional nonprofits, and measure real impact.

### 📌 Two Ways to Work Together

***

**Option 1 — Your Named Innergiving Fund**

We build a custom \[Family Name] Innergiving Fund around your specific cause within the mental health, behavioral health, or human services landscape. Minimum $1M annual contribution, deployed across a carefully curated pool of exceptional nonprofits at transformational scale. If you choose to give more, the pool expands — ensuring each organization receives $200k–$500k in annual funding. Personal, legacy-driven, and built entirely around what matters most to you.

**Option 2 — Collective Innergiving Fund**

You participate in the Collective Innergiving Fund alongside other participating family offices and impact investors, while also directing capital to organizations chosen specifically for your cause. Minimum $1M contribution.

Your capital supports both a shared core of 10 carefully curated nonprofits working across the mental health landscape and 2 custom organizations selected around your personal interest. Give more, and the number of custom organizations grows with your contribution.

Your contribution is weighted toward your custom picks. For a $1M contribution, each of your 2 chosen organizations receives $250,000, while your capital also strengthens each of the 10 shared core organizations. The result: deep personal meaning and broad collective impact, in a single relationship.

{% hint style="info" icon="grid-5" %}
*As the collective grows, the shared core organizations receive increasingly transformational support — every family's participation strengthens the whole.*
{% endhint %}

***

**▸YOUR CAUSE MIGHT INCLUDE**

* Suicide prevention and crisis intervention
* Addiction and substance abuse recovery
* Youth mental health and early intervention
* Homelessness and supportive housing
* Trauma healing and PTSD recovery
* Veteran mental health and reintegration
* Eating disorders and body image
* Grief and loss support
* Family and caregiver mental health
* Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
* Maternal and perinatal mental health
* Criminal justice and reentry mental health services
* Underserved and marginalized community mental health

{% hint style="info" icon="grid-5" %}
*If your cause lives within the mental health, behavioral health, or human services landscape — we can build a fund around it.*
{% endhint %}

***

### 📌 Fee Structure

***

**Advisory Fee:** Tiered, based on total annual contribution. As an example, a $1M annual contribution corresponds to an advisory fee of $84,250/year. Full rate schedule available upon request.

**Annual Contribution:** $1M+ (named fund, collective + custom, or a combination)

All fund management is administered through Charityvest Donor-Advised Community Fund infrastructure.

***

### 📌 Ecosystem Connections

***

While philanthropic fund management is my core offering, I also serve as a connector across the mental health capital ecosystem.

I take conversations with for-profit founders, facilitate introductions to investors, and help create collaborations between companies and nonprofits — but I don't provide investment-grade due diligence or manage for-profit portfolios.

This ecosystem knowledge benefits Innergiving Fund participants — gaining insight into emerging innovations, potential nonprofit partnerships, and the broader mental health landscape.

{% hint style="info" icon="grid-5" %}
*Relationship-building that creates value for everyone.*
{% endhint %}

***

### 📌 The Different A Fund Makes

***

**Without an Innergiving Fund — you deploy $1M yourself:**

* $1M ÷ 25 orgs = $40k grants
* $40k is helpful but not transformational
* You spend 200–300 hours researching and vetting
* No professional due diligence framework
* Limited access to exceptional organizations
* No ongoing impact monitoring
* Transactional relationships (write check, move on)

**With an Innergiving Fund — you contribute $1M + advisory fee:**

* Capital deployed at transformational scale ($200k–$500k per organization)
* Pool expands as contribution increases
* You spend 6–12 hours/year (quarterly calls, annual convening)
* Rigorous professional due diligence on every organization
* Access to organizations you'd never find alone
* Quarterly monitoring and impact reporting
* Deep, ongoing relationships with funded organizations
* The option to combine personal cause and broad collective impact in a single relationship

***

### 📌 What's Included In Both Options

***

**Professional Nonprofit Curation**

* Identify organizations worthy of significant support across mental health treatment, addiction recovery, trauma healing, supportive housing, family services, and programs serving vulnerable populations
* Access to networks and relationships built over decades
* Organizations you'd never find through public databases

**Rigorous Due Diligence**

* Leadership assessment: Can they execute, scale, and sustain impact under pressure?
* Program evaluation: Is the model evidence-based and effective?
* Financial health: Sustainable operations? Efficient use of resources?
* Organizational capacity: Ready to absorb and deploy transformative grants effectively?
* Impact measurement: Are outcomes real, measurable, and meaningful?

**Strategic Grant Deployment**

* Transformational-scale grants to each organization
* Multi-year unrestricted commitments where appropriate
* Portfolio balance across subsectors, populations served, and geographic reach

**Ongoing Impact Monitoring**

* Quarterly check-ins with each funded organization
* Real-time tracking of outcomes and challenges
* Adaptive management based on what's working

**Quarterly Impact Reports**

* Measurable outcomes across the portfolio
* Stories and data (qualitative + quantitative)
* Transparency on what's working and what's not

**Nonprofit Ecosystem Access**

* Board opportunities with funded organizations
* Deep relationships with mission-aligned organizations

**Professional Fund Management**

* Charityvest handles all legal compliance and grant distribution
* Immediate tax deduction for contributions
* Transparent accounting and reporting

{% hint style="info" icon="grid-4" %}
***TAX ADVANTAGE:** Immediate deduction for annual contribution. Charityvest Donor-Advised Community Fund structure provides maximum tax efficiency.*
{% endhint %}

***

### 📌 Who This Is For

***

Impact investors deploying $1M+ annually in philanthropic grants:

* Family offices (single and multi-family)
* Private foundations
* High-net-worth individuals (philanthropically active)
* Corporate philanthropy programs
* Impact funds (nonprofit-focused)

**Common characteristics:**

* Passionate about mental health, behavioral health, and/or human services — often from personal experience
* Want professional management of philanthropic capital
* Seeking leverage and transformational impact (not just scattered grants)
* Value strategic deployment over transactional giving
* Willing to commit for 3–5 years (ensures nonprofit continuity)
* Interested in building a personal philanthropic legacy around what matters most to them

***

### 📌 The Value

***

**Impact:** Transformational grants instead of incremental support — whether through your named fund or collective participation

**Legacy:** A named fund built around your personal cause and values

**Time:** Save 250+ hours/year

**Access:** Organizations you'd never find alone

**Expertise:** 30+ years operational experience + deep sector knowledge

**Confidence:** Know your capital is deployed strategically

**Community:** Network of like-minded impact investors

***

**Much of the value shows up in what doesn't happen:**

* Avoid grants to organizations with weak leadership or operations
* Prevent scattered capital that doesn't create transformation
* Earlier recognition of organizational challenges (before capital is wasted)
* Fewer decision regrets

***

### 📌 Why I'm Different

***

Most philanthropic advisors provide strategy but lack deep sector knowledge.

Most Donor-Advised Fund providers handle tax and legal but don't curate nonprofits or conduct due diligence.

Most impact consultants offer frameworks but don't have decades of operational experience evaluating organizations.

I integrate all of this.

I've built companies, held executive leadership roles in operations and finance, served on boards, and carried the weight of high-stakes decisions for 30+ years. I've also done a decade of deep personal work in mental health — understanding how trauma, leadership under pressure, and organizational dynamics actually work, not just in theory but from lived experience.

That integration allows me to evaluate what others miss:

* Can this leadership team execute under pressure? (Not just: do they have impressive credentials?)
* Will this organization scale sustainably? (Not just: are the programs well-designed?)
* Is the culture healthy and aligned? (Not just: do the outcomes look good?)
* Will this grant create transformational impact? (Not just: does the mission sound compelling?)

Most philanthropic advisors evaluate nonprofits through 990 forms and websites. I evaluate them through pattern recognition — 30+ years of operational experience seeing what predicts organizational success and what predicts failure.

***

### 📌 How We Work Together

***

This is an ongoing partnership, not a one-time engagement.

**Commitment:**

* 3–5 year engagement (ensures nonprofit continuity and meaningful impact measurement)
* Annual contribution: $1M minimum
* Advisory fee: based on tiered rate schedule

**Year 1:**

* Discovery conversation to understand your cause, values, and philanthropic priorities
* For a Named Fund: identification and deep dive on the vetted nonprofits aligned with your personal focus, with your input on final portfolio composition
* For Collective + Custom: presentation of the shared core portfolio and a deep dive on the custom organizations selected around your cause
* Grant deployment at transformational scale
* Quarterly impact reporting

**Years 2–5:**

* Ongoing portfolio management and monitoring
* Quarterly impact reports
* Annual portfolio review and refresh (add/remove organizations based on performance)
* Board opportunities with funded organizations
* Continuous learning about what's working in the sector
* Annual convening with other investors and funded nonprofits

**Your time investment:**

* Initial consultation: 2 hours (Year 1)
* Quarterly calls: 1 hour each (4 hours/year)
* Total: 6–12 hours/year

**My time investment:**

* Nonprofit curation, due diligence, quarterly monitoring, impact measurement, and reporting — the full operational weight of managing your fund well

### 📌 Let's Talk

***

If you're deploying $1M+ annually in philanthropic grants to mental health, behavioral health, or human services — or if you have a specific cause you want to build a lasting legacy around — I'd welcome a discovery conversation.

No pitch. No obligation. Just clarity about whether this kind of partnership creates the impact you're looking for.

**Ken Hunt** · **Mental Health Portfolio Architect · Innergiving Funds**

I manage the Innergiving Funds — building custom named funds for family offices and high-net-worth individuals around the causes closest to their hearts, and managing the Collective Innergiving Fund to pool philanthropic capital across the broader mental health landscape.

My work integrates 30+ years of financial and operational leadership with deep sector knowledge and lived experience.

I've built companies, led in executive leadership roles, served on boards, and deployed capital across finance, strategy, and organizational development. I've carried the weight of high-stakes decisions firsthand — I know what organizational success and failure look like.

A triple bypass forced a reckoning I could no longer ignore. Over the past decade, my work has deepened to include mental health — not as theory, but as lived experience. I understand how trauma shapes leadership, how pressure reveals organizational capacity, and how human dynamics actually work beneath the surface.

What became clear: strategic philanthropy isn't just about finding good nonprofits — it requires seeing clearly what predicts organizational success: leadership capacity under pressure, operational coherence, and readiness to scale.

Today, I work with a small number of impact investors as their Mental Health Portfolio Architect — building named funds around their personal causes and managing the Collective Innergiving Fund to deploy capital strategically across mental health, behavioral health, and human services.

The Innergiving Funds are managed in partnership with Charityvest Community Funds, a 501(c)(3) Donor-Advised Fund provider handling all legal compliance and grant distribution.

The Triple Bypass That Changed Everything

At 54, after three decades of high-performance leadership, my body sent a message I couldn’t ignore. The triple bypass wasn’t just a medical event, it was a wake-up call. I had spent years optimizing for external success while ignoring the internal cost.

What followed wasn’t retirement. It was reconstruction.

Over the next decade, I did the work most leaders avoid, understanding how unprocessed pressure, nervous system patterns, and unexamined dynamics shape everything we build. Not to become a therapist, but to understand what I had been missing as a leader.

That experience changed how I see leadership.

Sustainable leadership isn’t about working harder or being tougher. It’s about seeing clearly, both in the business and within yourself, and learning to lead from presence rather than pressure.

Today, that decade of reconstruction informs everything I bring to the Innergiving Funds — understanding what it costs a leader to carry what they carry, what drives organizational health or dysfunction from the inside, and why the relational, human-centered work of the organizations we fund matters more than any metric can capture.
